Cast on 8 stitches, knit 2 rounds, then follow chart I (Typensatz I) rounds 3-38.

Round 39 is a crochet cast-off:

Take three knitted stitches off at a time (all around) and crochet a chain of 3 stitches, up to the mark, and chains of 5 stitches over the corner flower.

The finished work is pinned out and blocked.
