Crochet Pattern for a duckling watching the sunset tapestry/throw. This pattern comes with both a graph and written directions.

All single stitch crochet using the tapestry crochet technique (carrying yarn)
You will need 2 skeins of Black (A), 3 skein of Burnt Orange (B), 3 skeins of Orange (C), 1 skein of yellow (D), and 4 skeins of light blue (E) to complete this pattern.

You can change the sunset colors from an orange and yellow palette to pink or red or blue or green etc….

I recommend starting the pattern by carrying 3 colors. Even though it is all black in the beginning when you’re carrying yarn it makes the stitches a little different (thicker etc..) I consider this a plus and like it but either way you want consistency.

I would start with carrying A (Black), C (Orange) & E (light blue) until you get to where you start using B (burnt orange) in the pattern. Then, I would only carry the Black (A) in the section that has the duck in it and start carrying the burnt orange (B). Continue carrying B, C & E until you get to the trees and then I would switch to carrying A (Black), B (Burnt Orange) & D (Yellow) until finished.

I recommend a medium weight (worsted weight) yarn with a J sized hook. The tapestry should come out a little over 4 feet wide (when crocheted with a J hook and medium weight yarn) A border can increase the size and give the project a more finished look.
It is all single stitch crochet. In order to make this blanket you will need to know how to carry yarn (there are great Youtube videos that can teach you how to do the Tapestry Crochet Technique. I highly recommend trying a small simple pattern to practice carrying yarn before attempting a larger project. Carrying yarn gets more difficult as you add more colors.
