Dulcet is an asymmetrical garter stitch shawl that uses short rows to obtain a long, skinny crescent shape that sits nicely on the shoulders. Easy to memorize “arc” repeats are finished with a picot bind-off using 1 or 2 skeins of breathtaking Olann Sock Lite.

I recommend solid, semisolid, speckled or lightly variegated yarn for this design. Highly variegated yarns hide the short row shaping. And I cannot recommend Olann yarns more! Sock Lite is amazingly soft, her colorways are out of this world, and the yardage is impressive.

Final Measurements
small: 58” wingspan, 10” deep
large: 85” wingspan, 14” deep

Materials
Olann Sock Lite (425m, 100 gram skein)
small: 1 skein Willow
large: 2 skeins Whirl

Needles
US 5 (4mm) circular needle with a 32” cable

Gauge
20 stitches and 48 rows = 4” in garter stitch, blocked. Gauge isn’t critical for this project, but will affect yardage and final size.
I used around 400 yards (365 meters) for the single skein version and 800 yards (731 meters) for the two skein version.
