Dumpster Fire
Super quick and crocheted in a total of 3 parts, this little pattern can be adjusted in so many ways! I love using variegated yarn with these little guys, but also make them in seasonal colors too…think Christmas, Halloween, Valentines and flag, school or team colors for a little bit of fun. As with many patterns, it is easy to adjust the look and size of your little dumpster fires using different yarn weights with a compatible hook.
Skill Level:
Moderate
Size:
Approx 5” high and 5” wide
Materials Needed:
6 mm (US size J) crochet hook
Less than 100m (110 yards) of Super Bulky Yarn in desired colors. I used Hunny Bunny by Hobbii in Plum, Capri Blue, Lapis Blue, and Gold Dust
Small amounts of Super Bulky yarn in black, yellow and Orange. I used Hunny Bunny by Hobbii, and Bernat Blanket yarn. I’ve also used 2 strands of Bernat Premium worsted weight yarn for some of the photos, which also works well.
One set of 12mm (1/2”) safety eyes
A printer to print included dumpster signs, a laminator if desired, and a hot glue gun with glue sticks to attach. Alternatively, you can use other types of glue or sew the hands to the sign, if desired
A large hand full of polyester stuffing
Stitch marker, if desired
Tapestry needle to weave in ends
