Dunaris
An eerie, deep, resonant soundscape rises, inspiring awe, otherworldliness, and grandeur. Vast expanses unfold before my eyes. Ripples. The howling of desert winds. Shifting dunes. Voices ebb and flow, epic and mystical. A minimalist melody echoes the hypnotic and infinite landscape. What magic makes music conjure images and emotions?
The Dunaris cowl is inspired by the music of Dune by composer Hans Zimmer. The cowl combines naturally biased stitch patterns in two-color brioche. Their shapes evoke sound waves and ripples in the sand. For extra fun, Dunaris is worked in one dark color and one bright variegated colorway introducing variation and spiraling in the repetitive wave pattern.
Join us on this epic journey and wrap your neck in lavish brioche with Dunaris!
Dunaris is a word play on Dune and Arrakis.
Arrakis is the name of the imaginary planet of Dune. The Dune film for which Hans Zimmer composed the music is based on Frank Herbert’s Dune science fiction novel.
For best effect, use a round yarn with good stitch definition. Yarn weights ranging from Fingering to Worsted would be suitable. As for colorways, I would recommend one solid or semi-solid yarn, and one contrasting variegated or single skein gradient yarn.
