This pattern was designed to make the most of a 50g/ 1.7oz skein of fingering weight yarn. But because having options is one of the best things about knitting your own accessories, the pattern also sizes up beautifully.

Any fingering-weight yarn will work with the suggested needle size. If you want to use a laceweight yarn, I’d suggest going down to size 5/ 3.75mm needles.

Sizing
Shawlette (shawl) is 38 (62)“ / 96.5 (157) cm across by 14.5 (26)” / 37 (66) cm deep.

This pattern is designed to be flexible. You can make it bigger by repeating Pattern B or Pattern D as many times as desired. This will, of course, require more yarn.

One sample shawlette was knit with an extra repeat of Pattern B and used 200 yards/ 183 m of yarn. Another knit in lace-weight yarn on 3.75 mm needles took 671 yards/ 613.5 m for nine repeats of Pattern B and two of pattern D.
