This is an interesting asymmetrical shawl, and looking rather like three overlapping triangles. Suitable for an advanced beginner, it is knitted from the bottom up and finished with an I-cord bind off in a contrasting color. It is an excellent design to show off a beautiful yarn. The pattern is written, not charted.

The textured fabric is produced by a different sequence of knits and purls in each row, producing a naturally flat, cushy fabric that does not curl, has identical right and wrong sides, and will not need blocking - certainly not aggressive stretching like lace! The beginning is an asymmetrical triangle, followed after 70 rows with adding a smaller asymmetrical triangle at the beginning of the row, and 30 rows after that adding another small triangle at the end of the row. From this point on, the body is knitted as established until the yarn is nearly gone (or until you want to stop). You will have a lovely shawl with an irregular lower edge and one side that increases more quickly than the other. It is relatively shallow for its length and may be worn wrapped or draped in various ways - wear it however you like, and make your own fashion statement!

FINISHED DIMENSIONS: 64 inches wide, 17 inches long

This can be made as large or small as you wish, but be aware that you may need more or less yarn accordingly.

All size information and measurements are for the shawl as I made it.
