Durumagi
Durumagi Cardigan is inspired by
Korean traditional outer robe, “Durumagi”. The design is inteded to embody the beauty of Hanbok.
Durumagi Cardigan is worked from the top down using short rows and double knitting technique.
The cardigan has dropped shoulder armholes and an oversized fit so it is recommended to wear it with 20~30 cm of positive ease.
Also, you could omit stitch pattern and work only with knit stitch, use different colors for Git and Dongjeong and Keutdong, or add some length to the body.
The navy color sample is size L. The model wearing is usually wearing S and M. It is larger than the original. Less roomy than the picture, but it’s pretty.
Enjoy Korean traditional aesthetic with pleasant variations!
