This pattern is rated intermediate. You should already know how to do the following stitches: slip stitch, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble(triple) crochet, half double crochet 2 together decrease, as well as how to braid). The pattern requires you to be able to crochet small circles in tight spaces, which can be difficult for a beginner crocheter. You will need a size H (5.00 mm) and G (4.25 mm) hook (or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge:8 hdc and 7 rows = 3 inches (with larger hook)

You will also need a yarn needle and worsted weight yarn in orange, white, black, gray, yellow, and light blue.

The pattern comes in 2 sizes: Toddler (2T- 5T) will fit a head 19-21 inches around
Child (6-10) will fit a head 20- 22 inches around.
