The first of this years Rhinebeck Sweaters is the Dutchess Crew. This was definitely a spur of the moment design while I was working through another design idea, but it quickly evolved into a pattern which emphasizes a beautiful balance between texture and playing with color. This year was undoubtedly a year of simplicity for me while designing, but keeping patterns simple and classic, also allowed me to explore new techniques and garment construction that I had previously never explored before.

Dutchess Crew is a bottom up, slightly cropped, drop shoulder pullover that features Broken Rib and Garter Stitch.

SIZES:

FINISHED BUST CIRC: 37 (41, 45, 49, 53) (57, 61, 65, 69)” / 94 (104, 114, 124, 135) (145, 155, 165, 175) cm

BODY LENGTH FROM UNDERARM: 9.5” / 24 cm

YARN:

(MC) PRIMROSE YARN CO. REPLAY SPORT:
100% Upcycled Wool / ~150g / 3 ply / 500 yds / 457 m

(CC) PRIMROSE YARN CO. HOMESTEAD SPORT- 100% American Superwash Merino / ~ 75g / 2 ply / 250 yds / 229 m

shown in (MC): ‘Dark Grey No. 1’ & (CC): ‘Crimson Peak’

NUMBER OF SKEINS NEEDED BY SIZE: MC: 3 (3, 3, 3, 4) (4, 4, 4,4) / CC: 2 (2, 2, 2, 2) (2, 3, 3, 3)

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: due to this pattern being slightly cropped, if you plan to add any length to the sweater, you may want to consider purchasing an additional skein of the MC. Replay Sport is a non repeatable yarn within each colorway, so once a colorway is gone it is gone.

NEEDLES:
Main Fabric Needles: US 6 / 4mm
Ribbing Needles: US 5 / 3.75mm

GAUGE:
22 sts X 38 rows= 4”x4”, knit using main fabric needles, and meaured over 6 rows of broken ribbing in MC, and 2 garter stitch rows in CC.
