Dwarven Mittens
These mittens should keep your fingers warm and toasty during your adventures to the most goblin infested caves, the murkiest forest, or the coldest mist wreathed mountain.
Warning-wearing these mittens may make you wish to take on a mighty dragon, be careful what you wish for!
Dwarven Mittens were designed using a beautiful worsted weight hand dyed yarn by Verdant Gryphon and are part of the Knits For There And Back Again Collection.
The Medium fits true to size and uses one skein of Mondegreen.
The mittens should be knit at a tighter gauge than usual at 22 sts and 32 rows per 4” in the cable pattern.
Skill level - intermediate
requires knowledge on how to knit cables using a chart, M1, SSK, K2TOG, Kitchener stitch, and knitting in the round using magic loop. Although written for magic loop the pattern may be easily adapted for DPNs.
These mittens were a labor of love and wouldn’t have been possible without without FloridaLynn’s immense help and encouragement. Thank you so much Lynn.
If you love these mittens, please make a donation to Doctors without Borders or the American Red Cross. Remember each time a donation is made, the dwarves raise a glass to you, sing out your name and cheer!
This update removed all sizes except the medium. Stitch count for the thumbs were updated and the chart was clarified.
