I use about 1/2 skein of Anna Imperial Yarn. The natural and gray color ways allow you to dye your yarn before or after knitting the gloves.

I use the smaller sized needles for smaller sized gloves, and the larger sized needles for a larger size. You can also use 40” circular needles and knit two gloves at a time, like socks.

You may be able to get two sets of gloves if you knit the smaller size and bind-off the picked up thumb sts without knitting rows.

These gloves are knit in the round using a cable pattern.
