Dying of the Light
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
These two lines, along with the fading daylight, are what inspired this design.
Yarn:
MC 875yds/800m 4ply linen yarn
CC 383yds/350m 4ply linen yarn
(sample was knit in eco-stitch 100% linen sport in the French Navy colourway for MC and the Rose colourway for CC)
Needle and Gauge:
3mm/US size 2.5 needles
Sample was worked at a gauge of 20 sts and 30 rows = 4” 10cm stockinette stitch using 3mm needles (blocked).
Please be aware any changes in gauge may affect your yardage and finished size.
Skills Required:
GSR, k, k2tog, yo
Notions:
2 stitch markers
Finished Size (after blocking):
87”/221cm wide x 21”/53cm deep
German Short Rows were used, for which directions are given, you may substitute your own preferred method of short row if you wish.
Linen yarn was used for the sample, you can of course substitute any 4ply yarn you wish but this may affect your gauge which will in turn affect your yardage.
