This pattern is the first in a series of poncho designs that will be fun to make. Find your inner hippie with bright colors or knit up something comfy and cozy with your favorite neutrals to go with any outfit.

This is a recipe style pattern that can be easily adapted to any weight of yarn. Depending on your gauge and the finished size you make, you may find you need a different amount of yarn than recommended. The actual instructions are short and to the point! It can be made in a wide range of sizes by adding more length to the bottom. I have shown many samples in many different yarns.

Size it up or down.. meaning make it for your child, or make one for yourself, or both.

Choose your needle size based on your yarn and the fabric you want. After you make one, you will have more confidence in how much yarn you need. Trust me, you will want to make more than one of these. It’s easy knitting, maybe even boring, so grab some fun fiber and let the color and texture make the poncho look smashing!
