Eagle Illusion
or buy at Payhip or LoveCrafts
This flying eagle illusion can be used for a shawl, as shown in the photographs, or it could be adapted to be a rectangular wall-hanging.
It is 160 stitches high and 320 ridges wide. Using a gauge of 5 stitches per inch the finished size is approximately 162 cm (64”) wide and 81 cm (32”) deep. I used DK yarn. You could use other yarns but this might change the overall size. I used approximately 520 metres (570 yards) of Stylecraft Special DK in Stone and Midnight.
The shawl is shown with a narrow edging all round. You could add a wider border if you want to make the shawl bigger. The pattern includes instructions for this, and for converting to a wall-hanging.
