Earflap Hat Crochet Pattern
Get ready to conquer the cold with the Chunky Earflap Hat! Whether you’re going for the classic “I’m cool but warm” beanie look or the “I’m serious about staying toasty” ear-flap style, this pattern has you covered—literally! It’s so easy to follow, even your cat could probably give it a go (but maybe stick to your own hook). To make the hat you will need:
- yarn: 2-4 skeins of cotton aran worsted (10 ply) yarn, or any yarn which will result in stitch gauge below
- crochet hook: 6 mm, or size hook which result in stitch gauge below
- 1 moveable stitch marker (or safety pin)
- scissors
- tapestry needle or small crochet hook size 2 – 3 mm to wave in the ends
Stitch Gauge: (10 cm x 10 cm -> 15 sts x 16 rows)
Pattern is written in US standard terms.
Skill level – easy.

- ch – chain
- st/sts – stitch(es)
- slst – slip stitch
- hdc – half double crochet
