Early Frost Shawl
Winter in the Pacific Northwest is characterized by moody grey skies and rain with the occasional frosty morning. I love having warm layers that are as perfect with my morning pajamas and coffee as they are for an evening out on the town with my husband. This simple, steady shawl with its soft, ruched waves has a quiet elegance about it. Its pattern is subtle enough that it can work easily with whatever you happen to be wearing.
Knit side to side from the smallest point to the far flat edge (where the slight ruffle sits), Early Frost is worked with staggered increases along one edge. The result is an elongated triangle with ruched panels worked in repetition.
