This cowl is designed to be twisted into a double loop, the knitted fabric is stretchy and will fit snug around the neck to keep the cold winds off. As well as being elastic, I think Slipped Honeycomb stitch shows off the qualities of thick and thin yarn really nicely. My prototype is knitted with one 200g skein of Wooltops Falklands Corriedale Chunky Thick and Thin 100% wool, which is wonderfully soft. The colour change was home dyed with yarrow plant tops, the changes occurring at approximately 50cm intervals.
