East of the Sun, West of the Moon Cowl
Enchanted by an evil witch, a prince who is in the daytime guise of a white bear, marries a peasant girl. She grows to love him and when he comes to her in the dark as a human, she lights a candle to see him, ensnaring him under the evil witch’s spell forever. To regain her true love, the maiden must travel across the mountains, east of the sun and west of the moon to find him. She is helped on her travels by gifts of a golden apple, comb and spinning wheel, and the North Wind helps speed her on her journey, where she finds her prince and breaks the evil spell.
