This pattern is for the overlay mosaic crochet square shown on the image, that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. For the example square, I used yarn weight of 4 ( DK )with a 4mm ( US-G/6, UK 8) hook, which creates a square of 8” x 8” ( 20 x 20 cm) That size uses approximately about 200 yards of yarn, however you can use whatever yarn you like along with the recommended hook.
