Description
This little bunny has a surprise inside! Designed to fit around a Kinder Surprise egg, a plastic Easter egg, or a real egg, this cutie will delight the young and the young at heart.

This pattern is worked in the round, amigurumi style, in a spiral pattern without joining rounds.
The bunny is made in two halves, from the top down & from the base up. It is then hinged together at the back with a number of stitches.

Crochet Level - Pattern is suitable for beginners and up. This is a 10 page photo tutorial style pattern with detailed explanations of each step
It will only take you three - four hours to make one bunny.

Materials

• Ferrero Kinder Surprise egg (where available)

• OR - foil wrapped medium sized chocolate Easter egg

• OR - plastic two-part fillable Easter egg (size: 14 cm (5 1/2 inch) circumference or 45 mm (1 3/4 inch) diameter, 10cm (4in) height) You could put your own treats & surprises inside of the egg for a special Easter gift

• OR - XL sized boiled egg.

• OR - stuff with polyester fibre filling and sew the two halves of the bunny together all the way around as a cute toy suitable for baby or toddler age and up. Maybe also could be made into a rattle.

• Crochet Hook: 2.5mm (you could also use size B -2.25mm or size C - 2.75mm, or the hook size needed to obtain gauge)

• Dark brown stranded embroidery thread (I used DMC 898) - 55 cm / 22 inch

• Yarn needle

• Embroidery or chenille needle

• Scissors

• Stitch markers

• Pins- round headed, preferably black

• Kitchen fork

• Beading thread or waxed linen thread

Stonewashed yarn colours used: 835: Rhodochrosite, 828: Larimar, 833: Beryl, 819: New Jade, 834: Morganite

Stonewashed yarn amounts used:
Colour A: 6 grams for top of egg, 4 grams for pair of ears (10g total)
Colour B: 4 grams for base, 3 grams for pair of feet, 1 gram for pompom tail. (8 g total)

Other suitable yarns may be:
(some of these are a heavier weight than Stonewashed, some a lighter weight, so choose your hook accordingly.) Scheepjes Catona, Scheepjes Catona Denim, Schachenmayr Catania, Paintbox Cotton DK, Paintbox Simply DK, Stylecraft Special DK, DMC Natura Cotton

Finished size: 10cm (4in) height
