This pattern is suitable for someone with a little experience in amigurumi and is looking to make shapes beyond the basics. This crochet pattern has 11 pages with 20 photos help you along. You will need to know these techniques for this pattern:
-Crocheting in continuous round
-Forming a magic ring
-Handling of small crochet parts
-sc - single crochet
-sc inc - single crochet increase
-sc dec - single crochet decrease
-ch - chain
-hdc - half double crochet
-dc - double crochet
-dc inc - double crochet increase
-ss - slip stitch
Using fingering yarn with 2.5mm hook will produce a palm size chick of about 6.5cm/2.6in tall and 6cm/ 2.4in wide. You can use a thicker yarn to make a larger unicorn and thinner yarn to make a smaller one.
The materials you will need for this project will be (based on fingering yarn):
-Yellow yarn
-White yarn
-Orange yarn
-Baby blue yarn
-Pink yarn
-Safety Eyes 6mm x2 (use a bigger size if using a thicker yarn)
-Stuffing
-Crochet Hook 2.5mm
-Felting needle + pink felting wool OR pink felt and glue
-Yarn needle
