This is a PDF PATTERN for crocheted small chickens and roosters.

These birds are quickly and easily made and can be varied endlessly by crocheting them in one ore more colors and combining parts of the pattern.
They will make a fun surprise for the children, a great Easter present, or why not decorate your hanging potted window plants to get the extra Holiday feeling.

The pattern includes how to make wings or hands with or without feathers, how to make tail feathers, beak and comb.

The pattern has a list of all materials needed, it includes step-by-step crochet instructions.
It is a 6 pages PDF pattern, written in standard US crochet terms, and uses standard A4 format (210 by 297 millimeters) when printed.

Skill level: Easy

Size:
The finished birds are 10 cm (3.9’’) tall in the recommended size of thread and hook.
The pattern recommends crochet cotton Catania from Schachenmayr (50 g = 125 m/137 yds) or similar and a size 2.0 mm crochet hook.

You can use any other crochet thread of your choice. In size 20 the birds are only 5 cm (1.97’’) tall.

Stitches used:
ch – chain stitch
sc – single crochet
sl st - slip stitch
