Easter is the only time of year when it’s perfectly safe to put all your eggs in just 1 bowl !

This PDF Crochet Pattern will guide you to crochet a tree trunk egg bowl as shown in picture, made using 8 ply / DK soft acrylic yarn (wool or cotton will be suitable too) and crochet hook E (3.5 mm). Stylecraft Special DK was used to create the bowl in the pictures.

The bowl is double layered, with plastic canvas in between the layers, to make the bowl sturdy, to hold at least a dozen chicken eggs or any other items you wish.
Finished size will be approx. 2.4” (6 cm) in height, 7.5” (19 cm) in diameter. If you wish to make a smaller or taller version of this bowl, you can just use thinner or thicker yarn / crochet hook.

All parts for the bowl are worked in continuous rounds. Gauge is not important for this pattern.
Skill level: beginner - intermediate

Materials used:

• crochet hook size E (3.5 mm)
• yarn in dark brown (approx. 100 gr, 322 yds, 294 m), small amounts of cream and green
• stitch marker, tapestry needle, pins, scissors, fiberfill stuffing
• plastic canvas (or any flexible plastic / foam, from a placemat for example) 1 piece approx. 26” x 2,4” (65 x 6 cm), 1 circular piece diameter approx. 7,5” (19 cm) (these measurements are for use of indicated yarn / crochet hook, when other yarn / size crochet hook are used, measurements for plastic canvas will be different)

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, front post half double crochet, double crochet, magic circle, increasing, decreasing, working through back of loops.
