This pattern uses size 10 crochet thread and a 1.5 mm crochet hook. It requires 450 yards white and 15 yards in each of 16 colors, in pairs of coordinating pastel and bright tones. Of course, you can make the eggs in any combination of colors you prefer. Each small egg measures 1 ¾“ by 1 ½”, and each large egg measures 3” by 4 ½”, but this gauge is not strictly necessary as long as you are consistent throughout.
