Easter Parade Socks
These socks are knit from the cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset heel construction and Kitchener Stitch to graft the toe. The coloured stripes are knit and purl stitches in gorgeous spring pastel colours which really pop against the off white of the rest of the sock.
The pattern is written for 3 sizes, small (UK 5-6), medium (UK 6-7) and large (UK 7-8), but is very easily customizable to fit your own foot. As you’re knitting from the cuff down, you can slip your work over your foot to check the fit of the leg, heel and foot as you go. There is enough yarn in the kit to make one pair up to size Large.
Suitable for beginners with some knitting knowledge (casting on, joining and knitting and purling in the round, Kitchener stitch)
I’ve knitted these socks using Drops Nord 4ply sock wool, a super soft sock yarn with a 45% alpaca content, lovely to work with, and very reasonably priced as well as easy to get hold of. You will need around 75g of the main colour (Off White) and 10g each of the 5 pastel colours to knit the stripes in Light Peach, Dandelion, Sage Green, Ice Blue and Sweet Orchid.
Any 4 ply sock yarn will do, however, the gauge I’ve worked to is 32 stitches to 41 rows using 2.5mm double pointed needles - you can use a circular needle and the magic loop method if you prefer.
I have tried to make this pattern as user friendly as possible, but will provide you with my email address when you download the pattern, if you have any issues at all, do get in touch and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my listing, if you have any questions before purchasing, do get in touch.
Happy Knitting! x
Please note: this listing is for the digital download of the PATTERN ONLY, not the kit and not ready knitted socks.
There is a kit available for these socks, which contains everything you need to knit one pair. Take a look at my other listings to purchase it.
