After many years traveling from city to city, coast to coast, I found my true home at Eastern Point Beach, where the Thames River meets Long Island Sound. The Eastern Point Shawls suggest the ebb and swell of waves along the rocky shoreline of my home.
The shawls are designed as generous crescents of allover lace, including center back panels. Version 1 is a simple variation of Feather and Fan, with only one pattern row, alternating with plain stockinette and garter for texture. Version 2 begins with an unusual undulating lace pattern, then transitions to the Feather and Fan design for a flowing finish. Lace weight yarn imparts an ethereal quality to the ripple pattern of both shawls.
Both versions are included in the pattern.
