This is a super simple scarf that knits up very quickly. The elongated stitch pattern is made by creating yarnovers that get dropped on the following row. The rest is plain garter stitch.

Great for someone who needs to knit a quick gift or for someone who is just learning yarnovers.

I used worsted weight yarn, but you can use yarn of any weight (with the appropriate size needles). If you do so, you can change the number of stitches you cast on (more stitches for a thinner yarn, fewer stitches for a bulkier yarn).
