Welcome to this years Pie Themed sock pattern: Easy as Pie! Each pattern is a whimsical take on favourite pie toppings!

There are three patterns included:

Crumble Socks - Think all those buttery and berry forward crisp and crumble topped pies! Crumbly texture in an easy to memorize 6-round pattern, contrast toe/heel shown is Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co. 2024 Pie Day sock set.

Mousse Socks - Swirls of mousse, meringue and whipping cream topped pies! Dreamy mock cables and eyelets with fun toes, heels, and a layered cuff! Shown in Campfiber Yarns 2024 Pie Day sock set.

Crust Socks - It’s all about a good crust! Flakey, buttery and tender, be it rustic or fancy, the crust is the best part. These are deceptively simple anytime knitting socks. With a 16-round repeat, we are only cabling on 2 rounds! Shown in Zeezee Textiles 2023 Pie Day sock set.

These patterns come with a gusset and heel flap construction and 4 sizes.

Judy’s Magic cast on, working in the round, knit, purl, slipping stitches, decreasing, twisted stitches, yarn over, cable knitting, reading charts, BO using a stretchy method.

Materials

Sample Yarn Used:

Crumble Socks
1 x 100 g/437 yds, Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co., Enemies to Lovers Fingering, 85% SW Extrafine Merino/15% Nylon, in the Poison Apple Pie colourway (MC), and 1 x 20 g/87 yds mini skein in Evil Queen (CC).

Mousse Socks
1 x 100 g/394 yds, Campfiber Yarns, Soft Sock, 80% Superwash Merino/20% Nylon, in the Oreo Mint Mousse Pie sock set, and 2 x 20 g/78 yds mini skeins mint (CC1) and dark brown (CC2).

Crust Socks
1 x 100 g/463 yds, Zeezee Textiles, Nylon Sock, 75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon, in the Cranberry Apple Pie colourway (MC), and 1 x 20 g/92 yds mini skein in bright red (CC).

Yardage: 300 (350, 410, 460) yds/274 (320, 375, 420) m TOTAL fingering weight yarn. Yardage is an estimate and is impacted by yarn used, knitter’s gauge, length of sock foot and/or leg knitted.

Suggested Needles:
2.5 mm/US 1.5, 80 cm/32” minimum length for magic loop, OR 2 x 40 cm/16” long for the two-circular method, OR 2.5 mm/US 1.5 double pointed needles OR size needed to obtain gauge. Darning needle. Cable needle if desired.

Gauge: 34 sts and 48 rounds = 10 cm or 4”, in the round, in stockinette stitch.
