The yarn I used had been separated from its label, but I know it was Yarn Bee Authentic Hand Dyed Tonal, which is a fingering weight sock yarn. I do not, however, know what colorway this is, but it takes so little yarn that if you have a bit of fingering weight scrap yarn it will work.

So choose any fingering weight yarn you like for this pattern. Gauge is important, so be sure to check gauge before you begin. Some crocheters reported having to go down a hook size.
