Easy Breezy Lemon Squeezy is designed to be knit fast and provide shade and cool comfort. The open lace top of the hat keeps your hair in place, while allowing air circulation. The brim is self supporting, knit on smaller needles, eliminating the need for interfacing.

I designed it with an extra “keep your hat on” feature of an elastic cord encased in a knit on
I cord hat band. If you prefer, you may eliminate this feature by skipping over those instructions and simply knitting the sides, crown and brim. The open lace can be used as eyelets to thread a scarf or cord through.

The hat is worked in rounds from the bottom of the sides to the decreases of the crowns. The cast on stitches are bound off in I cord with an elastic cord encased. The brim is picked up from the bottom edge of the sides, stitches are increased to form a flat brim and finally, an I cord bind off is worked to finish the brim edge.

I will admit that I have a genius for finding and using discontinued yarns. Substitutions for the yarns used are noted.

Materials
4 ¼ ounces, 104 yards Peaches ‘N Creme “Double” (Substitute Peaches ‘N Creme worsted weight, Sugar ‘N Cream or similar worsted weight cotton yarn held doubled. Can also substitute cabled cotton, such as Tahki Yarns Cotton Classic, or Cascade Ultra Pima or other sports or DK weight held triple. Purchase at least four 50 gram skeins of the cabled cotton. See note after sides and crown for working with cabled cotton.
