This pattern is written so it can be made for any size, using some simple measurements. You can use any yarn weight, any hook size! This is worked as a rectangle, then some simple seaming for arms/sleeves.

If the shrug is going to be worn for warmer weather months, I recommend using a cotton, hemp, linen, or cotton blend yarn. Acrylic and wool/wool blend yarns are great for colder weather months.
