I love chevrons! It’s a fact. So when I was deciding on what to make for the next baby blanket, it was no surprise that I decided a chevron pattern would be perfect. I wanted something that was definitely chevron and not just a ripple, if you know what I mean. :) Basically, the angles are sharper.

This pattern is worked mostly in double crochet so it goes quickly. Your gauge can and will vary, but for me, each chevron peak (think of a mountain) was 5 inches across and 3 inches high.

For the yarn, I used almost a full skein of the main color and a half skein in each of the alternating colors. I used Caron One Pound which softens up sooo much after washing. If you substitute with a baby yarn, your blanket will probably come out smaller, so you may want to increase the amount you chain for extra repeats.

I also chose not to cut the yarn with every color change. Because of this, I added a single crochet border which hid the carried strands nicely and is really why I think this is so easy. I do not like weaving in a billion ends!
