Easy Crochet Handbag Pattern

This easy handbag is done with single crochet and the Suzette stitch for the closing flap.

PATTERN NOTES

• Skill level – Easy to intermediate pattern. I only add the intermediate because of working with the strap and closure.

• This crochet pattern is worked flat, written in standard US TERMS and includes helpful photos.

• This pattern makes a bag that is 11” wide X 8” high and 2” deep using same size hook and yarn weight.

• Gauge - Single crochet 15 stitches x 14 rows = 4” square

MATERIALS

• Crochet hook 4.0 mm

• Any worsted weight yarn. I used Bergundy Red Heart Super Saver – one 7-oz ball. (you will have leftover yarn).

• Yarn needle, Scissors, Measuring tape.

• Lock Clasp for closure from Amazon

• For the Strap you can use a chain strap or crochet a strap. I mixed the two.

• Chain for the Strap. (optional)

• Swivel clasps with key rings from Amazon (if your chain strap doesn’t already have one at each end.

This makes your strap detachable.
