This is such an easy project to make, even an adventurous beginner will finish it in no time. And your pet will love you for it - whenever I start on a new one, my cats climb in as soon as they see the doughnut taking shape - most of the time I have to finish it around them, as they refuse to get out! I have made a few as gifts for friends with pets too (my cats just have a hard time of letting it go)!

The pet bed is made in one piece, stuffed and then either slip stitched for the seam, or seamed with needle and thread if you prefer. Over 30 step-by-step photo’s will guide you through the pattern - these are added at the end so that you have the option to print it without the photo’s.

Full instructions are included for 4 different sizes, from Small to Extra Large. Small will work well for miniature breeds of dogs, while Medium works well for an average cat, Large and Extra Large for most other dogs. Once you get the hang of the pattern though, you can customise it to any size, and guidelines are included for adapting the pattern to create your own novelty sizes as well.

Bernat Blanket and T-shirt yarn works very well for this pattern. However, this is a great project to use all your scrap yarn and you can achieve a similar sized result by using 3 strands together of a Medium Weight (4) yarn (Aran/Chunky) such as Vanna’s Choice from Lion Brand.
