Easy flat knit two needle socks
Easy flat knit two needle socks.
This is a pattern for a beginner friendly pair of socks worked flat. You can knit them on two straight needles and get all the benefits of construction that you get with socks worked in the round.
There are no heel seams, no side seams, no need for a stitch holder and no toe seams. They are worked cuff down, with an integrated square heel that requires no picking up of stitches. You simply work the short rows back and forth until you’ve shaped the heel and continue knitting to the toe, where we narrow down and use a continental drawstring finish.
The socks are seamed together up the front, which is the best place for it as it doesn’t rub as much as it would at the side or under the foot.
This is a brilliant starter pattern for sock first timers and those of you who do not want to knit with circulars or DPNs. I believe that knitters should always have a choice and never feel forced into knitting in the round if they don’t like it.
