Easy Going
Easy Going is a seamless, loose-fitting pullover with an unusual shape and interesting contruction.
Upper yoke is worked first: we start the work with a provisional cast on at the widest part of the yoke and then work bottom up to the shoulders. The upper yoke is shaped with decorative double decreases, the shoulders are shaped with some short rows, then the fronts and the back are joined with the 3-needle bind off technique.
Lower yoke is worked top down from the provisional cast on: front and back are worked separately back and forth to create the armholes.
Then the pieces are joined again in the round and the body is worked top down in one piece to the hem.
The stitches of the sleeves are picked up around the armhole and the sleeves are worked to the cuff in the round.
Gauge
20 sts and 28 rows = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Stockinette Stitch knit flat (lower yoke) with larger needle after blocking
20 sts and 28 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Stockinette Stitch knit in the round (upper yoke, body and sleeves) with larger needle after blocking
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
