Easy Half-Mittens (Fingerless Gloves)
This pattern is no longer available
This is an easy version of these popular hand warmers. Using a bulky yarn and only chain stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, and a slip stitch, you can make a pair of these in an evening. To make them even easier you can leave off the optional thumb portion – it’s up to you. You don’t have to be an experienced crocheter, but should be familiar with the stitches mentioned and working in rounds.
Ladies’ Medium size - the half-mittens measure approximately 7” from top to bottom, and 7-1/2” around at the palm just below the thumb. You can adjust the size of the mittens by adding rows to the ribbing to make it bigger around. This will also add to the width of the body of the mitten. To make the mitten longer, simply add rows either before the opening for the thumb.
I’ve found that I wear this style over a pair a regular skinny gloves for an extra layer of warmth - works great!
