This is the perfect project for the beginner knit. Why not make these very simple cushion covers. The pattern contains both Astrakhan and Blossom Versions.

The Astrakhan version takes 6 x 50 gr balls (70 metres per ball) and the Blossom Version takes 5 skeins (87metres) per skein. You will need 4mm needles for the Astrakhan version and 5mm needles for the Blossom versions unless you need to adjust your tension accordingly.
