Last Christmas I decided that I would take on the project of knitting Christmas stockings for our family. I started looking around the internet for patterns. Some were way too complicated (I am a pretty basic knitter) and the rest were not what I was looking for. I quickly realized that I was going to have to buy a pattern or come up with my own. Well, if you have been reading my blog long enough, then you probably know that I am a bit cheap frugal and if there is something I can figure out on my own, well I am going to do it! I came across a few various patterns that I combined and changed. The basic pattern I used came from here.

The large stockings were knitted with doubled yarn and big needles. With the smaller stockings I used single yarn and a 9 or 10 needle. The good thing about the stocking pattern, is that they turn out great no matter what size yarn or needles you use. The pattern is very simple and they also knit very quickly. If you can knit and purl, then you can knit this. I was able to complete each one in about 2 hours.
