My nephew, Eric, requested a warm yet lightweight hat. “I don’t want anything ‘fancy’ just a basic easy to knit up hat”; his words and air quotes too ~ Lol. His favorite color is grey so this is the end result. This hat is very easy to work up, perfect for the newbie to try their hand at knitting a hat.

The hat was worked in the round using size US6 (4mm) 16” (40cm) circular needle for the ribbing and size US7 (4.5mm) 16” (40cm) circular needle for the remainder of the hat.

Gauge: 20sts and 28 rounds = 4” (10cm) in St st worked in rounds on larger size needle.
