This project uses felting to strengthen the bag. There are many youtube clips on this. If you are confident enough you could do it by hand with a small tubs of one hot and one cold water. Otherwise its possible to do it with a washing machine.

The other skill you eill require is basic embroidery.

Besides usual knitting notions, you will require a metal clasp, embroidery needle and threads plus some buttons.
