Easy Like Sunday Morning Sweater
This quick, cozy knit is perfect for lazy mornings. It is designed to be worn with 4-6 inches of positive ease for a relaxed, casual fit. A wide, off-the-shoulder neckline and ¾ length sleeves complete the look. If you prefer a more fitted sweater, or if you’re between sizes, I recommend going down a size. Measurements are listed for the finished garment and for the actual chest size (your measurement). Use these to determine the best size for you.
Traditional sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL
Actual Chest Circumference: 28-30”, 32-34”, 36-38”, 40-42”, 44-46”, 48-50”, 52-54”, 56-58”, 60-62”
Finished Garment Chest Circumference: 34”, 38”, 42”, 46”, 50”, 54”, 58”, 62”, 66”
Finished Length (Hem to Underarm): 15”, 15”, 16”, 16”, 16”, 17”, 17”, 17”, 17”
Construction note: The body of the sweater is knit in the round, from the hem up to the armpits. The front and back panels are then separated and each is knit back and forth, with v-neck shaping on the front panel. Sleeve stitches are picked up and knit back and forth. Neckline ribbing is picked up last and knit back and forth.
Materials:
Yarn: Juniper Moon Farms Bud 6 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11) skeins, 109 yards (100 meters) per skein.
Needles:
Size 5 circular (24” length for sizes XS, S, M, L. 32” length for sizes 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X)
Size 7 circular (24” length for sizes XS, S, M, L. 32” length for sizes 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X)
Notions: stitch marker, 4 stitch holders, needle for weaving in ends, and spare cable/ scrap yarn.
Gauge: Appx 14 stitches x 22 rows = 4” x 4” square in stockinette stitch using larger needles. A small variation in gauge makes a big difference with bulky knits, so check carefully and adjust your needle size as needed.
