Angie’s Quick and Easy Mermaid Tail Lap Blanket Crochet Pattern

This is the wildly popular crochet project of 2015-2016!

My daughter earned several thousand dollars last fall making these and selling them here on Etsy and on Ebay! Helped pay for her grad school and wedding! Check out all my pictures. She is in the dark blue one on my brown sofa. The other dark blue one is a Christmas morning picture of one of our customer’s daughter. So fun!

She is not exactly a crochet pro, as she would happily admit, but this pattern is so easy, nearly mindless. So all those evenings while skyping with her dear hubby-to-be, she worked hard to keep up with orders.

Maybe you only want to make one for a handful of mermaid-crazy young ladies who are special to you, or maybe you would like to get in on the $ making fun. Either way. Permission is granted to sell what you make!

You can make it as a tube, or with the back open for easier on and off. Super bulky yarn and a big hook make it go very fast. I have some very specific yarn recommendations included, and I also give you the wraps per inch, so you can easily test a yarn to see if it is thick enough. You do want a textured yarn. There are some really beautiful and affordable ones out there, some of them self-striping like this teal one.

This is written in American crochet terms, but I know many of you are shopping from the other side of the Atlantic. So I have clearly written out the instructions, to eliminate any doubt, and I have everything in metric measurements as well as inches, plus you may contact me about anything you are not sure of.
