Easy One Round Flower Necklace
These flowers are like a child’s drawing of a flower — simple, round petals that taper to a point at the center. They’re made using only one round, and, by elongating the petals, the flower turns into a cluster of leaves.
All the yarn for this piece came out of my stash. My first prototypes used Red Heart Soft and Caron Simply Soft and they looked fine but very floppy. Fine, if you were going to sew or glue them down, but for a necklace they need more structure, so I switched to cotton yarn. Luckily, the colors I already had on hand work together to give the piece a tropical vibe. The final necklace is rough-hewn and rustic, like a garland you’d make during a long summer afternoon picnic with the kids.
The chain of the necklace is created with finger knitting but I make some suggestions for substitutions if that’s not your thing.
