Here’s a pattern for a darling, 70’s style owl which differs from other patterns in that it’s very simple, just 3 rounds on top of a disc of double crochet stitches. You’ll be able to finish one of these in about 10 minutes, and top it off with 4 or 5 embroidery stitches and two beads.

You only need to know chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet.

You’ll need a size 4 steel thread crochet hook and fashion crochet thread, or a size F aluminum hook and some medium weight yarn. (Both instructions for a yarn version and a thread crochet version are included.) You’ll also want a needle and some embroidery floss and two beads per owl.
