This cowl can be made with nearly any weight yarn and a suitable sized hook. Fingering/Lace weight will give you collar style cowls, while Sport, DK, and Worsted weight will give you slightly looser cowls. Bulky weight will give you a nice, loose cowl that is almost like an infinity scarf. It is a lacy type cowl that still gives you some warmth, but not quite as much as a solid cowl would. This style would be best suited for Spring/Fall, or Winter in warmer climates. Of course, this all depends on the warmth of the yarn you use as well! You can adjust the number of rows you do on each side to make the cowl thicker/thinner, as well as the length of the starting chain to make it tighter/looser.
