This adorable pumpkin hat may be made in any worsted or aran weight. I used Red Heart acrylic because I had some in just the right color, plus it wears like iron even when in constant use by little boys! However, I prefer cotton blends or cotton for children’s hats. Wool blends are excellent for cooler climates.

This easy hat is crocheted in the round. It has a ribbed appearance, like a pumpkin. The bottom ribbing is also crocheted, an easy but useful technique to add to your repertoire of skills.
