skills: know how to ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), hdc (half double crochet), fphdc (front post hdc, which is the same as regular hdc except after the initial yarn over you insert hook not into the top loops but in & around the post itself & out the front, pulling body of st (stitch) toward you, then continue with yarn over & pull through so you have the three loops on the hook, then yarn over & pull through all three loops on hook as usual; if needed, youtube search ‘front post half double crochet’ for helpful video demos), & bphdc (same as fphdc except the hook is inserted from behind & around the post itself & out the back, pulling body of st away from you)

hook: K/6.5mm
