A variation on a theme. Just like my Easy Crochet Hammock, this pattern is simple to construct and durable to use. A hammock made from any worsted weight yarn (great stash buster), that really works! Holds up to 200 lbs of person. And has proved to last outside 24/7 a minimum of 3 Canadian summers before needing replacement. And of course by then you will have plenty of ‘extra’ yarn kicking around to create a new one!

This ‘Side Stripe’ version is worked from side to side (instead of one end to the other) allowing you to include a beautiful lengthwise stripe pattern with ease. Construction is slightly altered from the “Easy Crochet Hammock” pattern to allow for the different stretch factor of side to side crochet. Use your imagination and work a nice nautical look, or make is a “hammock of many colours”.
